About Us

Many Bilkent alumni have moved to America for their education and careers. From across the ocean, they have had difficulty staying connected to Bilkent and each other. In Autumn 2007, Bilkent University's then rector, Ali Doğramacı, initiated an official North American program for them with a full-time employee to work on their behalf.

This web community is one of the products of that initiative, in an effort to virtually connect far-spread Bilkentliler in a professional and social networking community. In addition, events all over North America are being hosted for Bilkent alumni, including dinners, receptions, panels, lectures, and parties.

These events, as well as other news and announcements, are posted in this community. Other features include:

Controls have been set to only currently allow those in North America to join, so please email Karalyn Watson or Melis Ciner if the alumni office was not previously aware that you are located in North America.
